Play Ball: How the Nationals changed sports design at the Post

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

The Nationals' surprising 2012 pennant run led to award-winning work from The Washington Post sports team. Brian Gross will talk about the role he and Chris Rukan played in helping plan and shape the coverage, and design elements that they developed that have now been incorporated in other sports. You can also look for a dose of the Olympics, and of course RGIII.

Brian Gross

Art Director, Sports, Washington Sports
Brian Gross is a multi-SND award winner who’s always in the conversation as a finalist for Sports Designer of the Year. The Post’s work, which he helped design, from the Nationals’ playoff run and the Redskins’ RGIII revival are lessons in elegant design, smart illustration and clever headline writing. Prior to working at the Post, Gross was sports design supervisor at the Boston Globe.
